Pine Beetle Webinar
Do pine beetle management choices affect wildlife in our foothills?
Do natural deterrents differ from traditional chemical 'preventative sprays' in terms of wildlife safety?
If a woodpecker eats a beetle from a tree that has been chemically treated, are there secondary poisoning risks?
We’ve all heard about pine beetles—but have you considered the bigger picture? Join this special Wild Aware event to hear Wesley Manney, founder of The Mountain Pine Beetle Foundation, discuss these important questions and the options available to homeowners.
About the Speaker: Wesley Manney | Founder, Mountain Pine Beetle Foundation
Wesley Manney has spent his entire career mastering the complexities of arboriculture. While his roots are in residential tree care, his career quickly evolved to leading some of the most significant tree-related disaster relief efforts in the Western Hemisphere. Wesley specializes in the intersection of public safety and forest management, having served as a Prime Contractor in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a key partner for PG&E in Lake County, California.
His involvement in Shaver Lake, CA, serves as a blueprint for the Mountain Pine Beetle Foundation; by aggressively removing infected trees and treating healthy ones, his team created the defensible space that ultimately saved the community from total loss in later fire seasons. A veteran of recovery efforts in Asheville, NC, following Hurricane Helene, Wesley helped over 600 private homeowners through his company, United Arborist. He now brings this world-class experience back to the Colorado Front Range to lead the fight against the current beetle epidemic.
