Removal

Who do I call to report/request a dead animal pickup?

Animal carcasses in public spaces will be removed by the appropriate agencies. Animals on state and federal highways will be picked up by the state transportation agency, such as the Colorado Department of Transportation. County highway agencies will remove carcasses of larger animals on county roads. Dead wildlife on private property is the responsibility of the homeowner. There are businesses that will remove carcasses. It is legal in Colorado to take a carcass with a Colorado Parks & Wildlife license.
