STATE AND LOCAL HIGHWAYS
State Departments of Transportation are responsible for removal of carcasses on federal and state highways. Carcasses that are road hazards may be removed by maintenance crews. Animal carcasses not deemed a traffic safety hazard may be pushed away from road, not removed.
Contact your county’s Animal Control Department about removing animal carcasses under 100 pounds.
